Rats, unlike humans, will only breed if their environment is stable. If there is a limited food source they will not breed. Many rat “problems” are caused by bird feeders putting out much more food than the birds can eat. The simple solution is to limit the food that is available. No food = no rats. Many of us do not mind rattie visitors but sadly neighbours are quite often a problem!
